Entrepreneurship Project Officer

Location: Sana'a

Contract type: project based (ending on June 2026)

Key Responsibilities of Entrepreneurship Project Officer

Objective: To play a critical role in implementing, and monitoring SMEPS programs supporting private sector development, fostering entrepreneurial growth and economic diversification.

• Lead the day-to-day implementation and coordination of project activities in line with work plans and strategic objectives with the team focal points in the targeted governorates.
• Provide supervision, support, and guidance to field teams and project staff.
• Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes.
• Ensure quality control, timely delivery, and alignment with donor and SMEPS requirements in both systems (ERP-MIS)
• Maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including government bodies, civil society, and community members in southern and northern areas.
• Monitor project progress, identify challenges, propose solutions, identifying lessons learned.
• Prepare regular reports, updates, and documentation for internal and external use.
• Support financial oversight, including budgeting and expenditure tracking with the project focal points.
• Contribute to the design and review of Project (log-frame) M&E tools and participate in data collection and learning processes.
• Represent SMEPS in coordination meetings and field visits as required.
• Field visits ability to southern and northern areas. 

Selection Criteria:

Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Public Administration, or related field.
• Certificated in project management, organizational leadership, or related areas is an advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum 3-4 years of progressive experience in project management within the development sector. 
• Experienced in entrepreneurship projects management.
• Experienced in managing and supporting multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with donor-funded project implementation, reporting, and compliance.

Leadership and Management Skills:

• Strong leadership abilities with experience in staff supervision and team building. 
• Capacity to manage complex workflows and deliver results under pressure.
• Strategic thinking and adaptability to dynamic environments.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Proven ability to build partnerships and maintain effective communication with government, NGOs, and communities.
• Skilled in conflict resolution, facilitation, and inclusive dialogue.

Operational and Financial Oversight:

• Experience in financial planning, budget management and expenditure tracking 
• Understanding of procurement and logistical procedures.

Monitoring and Reporting:

• Competency in developing and applying M&E tools.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills.
• Experience in TPM -and mentoring and evaluation 
• Will knowledgeable in report writing. 

Languages and Travel:

• Proficiency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel to field sites on a regular basis (Accessible to travel with no constrains in all governorates)
