Job Title: Shelter/CCCM Field Officer 
Duty Station: Taiz 
Contract Type: Full-time 
Duration: 09 months

 

Job Summary:

The Shelter/CCCM Field Officer will be responsible for the field-level implementation and technical supervision of Shelter, Non-Food Items (NFI), and Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) activities in Taiz . This role focuses on ensuring that shelter and CCCM interventions are delivered in accordance with cluster standards and organizational guidelines. The officer will coordinate site-level assessments, organize distributions, engage with communities, and monitor activity progress. This position emphasizes technical delivery and field monitoring, without overlapping with project management responsibilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Shelter and NFI Implementation

·  Organize and supervise the distribution of shelter kits and NFIs to targeted beneficiaries.

·  Conduct shelter needs assessments and site-level evaluations to inform programming.

·  Ensure that shelter interventions adhere to technical standards and are appropriate to the context.

2. CCCM Activities

·  Support the implementation of CCCM activities, including site coordination, service mapping, and community mobilization.

·  Facilitate the formation and training of site committees to enhance community participation and accountability.

·  Monitor site conditions and report on gaps in services or infrastructure.

3. Community Engagement and Coordination

·  Engage with community leaders, local authorities, and site residents to ensure inclusive and participatory approaches.

·  Facilitate regular community meetings to gather feedback and share information about services and rights.

·  Coordinate with other humanitarian actors operating in the area to avoid duplication and ensure complementarity.

 

4. Monitoring and Documentation

·  Monitor the progress of shelter and CCCM activities, ensuring timely and quality implementation.

·  Maintain accurate records of distributions, assessments, and community engagement activities.

·  Submit regular field reports, including achievements, success stories, lessons learned, challenges and recommendations for improvement.

5. Compliance and Accountability

·  Ensure that all activities are implemented in line with humanitarian principles and organizational policies.

·  Promote and support complaint and feedback mechanisms at the site level.

·  Ensure that all interventions are sensitive to protection, gender, and inclusion considerations.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

·  Education: Bachelor’s or diploma degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Social Sciences, or a related field.

·  Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in shelter, CCCM, or humanitarian field operations.

·  Technical Skills:

·  Knowledge of shelter construction standards and CCCM principles.

·  Experience in organizing distributions and conducting field assessments.

·  Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data collection tools.

·  Language: Native Arabic with good written and spoken English.

·  Soft Skills:

·  Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·  Ability to work independently and under pressure.

·  Good organizational and problem-solving abilities.
